FAQ's

Bond Origination

What Is A Bond Originator

A bond originator is a professional who submits your home loan application to multiple banks on your behalf. Instead of applying to one bank at a time, we approach all major South African banks simultaneously, ensuring you receive the most competitive interest rate and terms available to you.

How much does your bond origination cost?

Our bond origination service is completely FREE to you. We are paid a commission by the bank once your bond is successfully registered. There are absolutely no hidden fees or charges to the client

Which banks do you work with?

We work with all major South African banks including ABSA, Standard Bank, FNB (First National Bank), Nedbank, and SA Home Loans. By approaching all of them simultaneously, we maximise your chances of approval and secure the best rate.

How long does the process take?

Once we have all your documents, we typically submit your application within 24–48 hours. Bank approval can take anywhere from 3 to 10 business days. The full process from application to registration can take 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the bank and conveyancing attorney.

What documents do you need to apply for a home loan?

Generally you will need: a certified copy of your ID, your latest 3 months’ payslips (or 6 months’ bank statements if self-employed), your latest 3 months’ bank statements, proof of address (not older than 3 months), and the signed Offer to Purchase. Our team will provide a full checklist tailored to your situation.

Can I apply if I am self employed?

Yes! Self-employed applicants can apply. You will typically need to provide 6 months’ business and personal bank statements, 2 years’ financial statements, and proof of income. Our team has experience assisting self-employed clients and will guide you through the process.

Credit Repair & Rebuild

How long does credit repair take?

Credit repair is a process, not an overnight fix. Minor inaccuracies on your credit report can be resolved in as little as 30–90 days. Rebuilding a damaged credit profile typically takes 6 to 18 months of consistent effort, depending on the severity of the issues.

Can you remove a legitimate negative listing?

We can only dispute and remove listings that are inaccurate, incorrect, or unlawfully listed. Legitimate negative listings (such as a genuine default judgment) cannot be removed until the debt is settled or the prescribed period (typically 5 years) has passed.

What credit bureaus do you work with?

We work with all major South African credit bureaus including TransUnion, Experian, Equifax, and XDS.

Debt Review

What is Debt Review?

Debt review (also called debt counselling) is a legal process in South Africa governed by the National Credit Act. It helps over-indebted consumers by restructuring their debt repayments into a single, affordable monthly payment, while protecting them from legal action by creditors.

Will debt review affect my ability to get a home loan?

While you are under debt review, you will not be able to obtain new credit, including a home loan. However, once you have successfully completed debt review and received your clearance certificate, you can begin rebuilding your credit and apply for a bond. We can guide you through this journey.

How long does debt review last?

The duration of debt review depends on your total debt and restructured repayment plan. It typically lasts between 3 to 5 years. Once all debts are paid off, you receive a clearance certificate and your debt review status is removed from the credit bureaus.

Blacklisting & Credit Applications

How do I know I am blacklisted?

You can obtain a free annual credit report from any of the major credit bureaus (TransUnion, Experian, etc.) to check your status. Negative listings such as judgments, defaults, or adverse listings will appear on this report. We can help you obtain and interpret your credit report.

Can you help me get a loan (home, vehicle, personal) with bad credit?

We can certainly try! Our team will assess your current credit profile and advise on your options. In some cases, we may recommend a credit repair plan first to improve your score before applying. Some banks also have products designed for clients with less-than-perfect credit.
